Gillespie + Powers, Inc.
continues its active involvement in the design, supply, and
installation of aluminum melting furnaces and holding furnaces,
specializing in the custom design of all types of equipment
including side well reverbs, round top charge melters, and tilting
melting furnaces, as well as supplementary equipment for the non-ferrous
melting industry. Many unique
installations have been completed that not only involve high
efficiency melting but provide for fume incineration, waste oil
destruction, and downstream attention to all air pollution control
equipment.

Vortex Impellor A.V.R. 3000 (patent pending)
|
|
We have specialized in the custom design of
all types of large melting equipment, including side well reverbs,
round top charge melters, and tilting holders.
|
| We have also completed
the installation of a number of metal reclaiming furnaces with
associated scrap handling and preparation equipment. |

Pulse Firing
|
 |
Gillespie + Powers, Inc. pulse firing combustion systems
specifically address the problem of burner turn down and
temperature uniformity without the usual complex control systems. |
|
Mechanical Damper
|
|
Today with the rising cost of fuel, proper
control of a furnace's pressure is essential to maintain a proper melt rate.
Gillespie + Powers, Inc.'s mechanical dampers are used to precisely control the air pressure
within the furnace. Our unique arrangement of refractory, stainless steel, and
automated control provides a damper of excellent operation and
maintenance. |
|
Fume Burning and Incineration
|
|
Many of our furnace designs incorporate features for the
collection and destruction of fumes and the capture of fugitive
emissions associated with charging contaminated scrap. Our unique
"double shroud" collection hood provides effective high
velocity capture of emissions |
|
Water Modeling |
|
Extensive true scale water modeling of the Gillespie + Powers, Inc. well melting systems has provided information on the most
effective arrangement of connecting features between the wells
and the main hearth of the furnace.
