Aluminum Melting and Holding Furnaces

We specialize in the custom design of all types of aluminum melting and holding equipment including Side Well Reverberatory Furnaces, Round Top Charge Melters, and Tilting Holders. We have completed many unique installations that not only involve high efficiency melting, but also provide for contaminated scrap fume incineration and waste oil destruction.

We have been granted U.S. patents on such items as our Reverse Flow Melting System, the Mass Flow Delacquering Process, and our Vortexer Submerging Device.

 

Decoating System

Gillespie + Powers, Inc. offers the Mass Flow Delacquering Process,, which is truly the most advanced technology in the world to provide for efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly decoating of all forms of aluminum feed stock materials. The Mass Flow Delacquering Process, provides for the removal of organic contamination with carefully controlled atmosphere using the counterflow kiln patents.

 

Aluminum Scrap Preparation Plant Complex

We provide total systems to include bale breaking, shredding, separation, and secondary sizing of all types of scrap materials, including painted siding, swarf, frag, twitch, UBCs, and litho.

 

Specialized Material Recovery Systems

Gillespie + Powers, Inc. has been involved with the design and construction of a number of special treatment plants for the recovery of reusable metal from contaminated scrap. These have included such systems as our copper transformer laminate recovery plant, and automotive air bag inflator deactivation and metal recovery plant.

 

Hazardous Waste Incineration

Gillespie + Powers, Inc. remains active in the design, installation, and maintenance of high temperature systems for hazardous waste incinerators. Our services also include the design, procurement, and warehousing of selected specialized shapes required for precision maintenance of these facilities.

 

Engineering Services/Failure Investigations

Gillespie + Powers, Inc. provides services for the technical evaluation of the service life condition of refractory-lined furnaces of all types. We have accumulated vast quantities of information on furnace slags and their interaction with refractory systems and operating conditions.
